What we are looking at today may actually be the first Rainbow Six game that many people played!
Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six: Vegas (2006/2007) Xbox 360, PC, PlayStation Portable, PlayStation 3The best way to think of Rainbow Six Vegas is as a whole new ball game for the series as this in many ways is actually serving as a reboot of the series. Ubisoft had a clear vision for what they wanted Rainbow Six to be going forward.
As you would expect the story is set in Vegas one of the tourist hot spots of the world. The basics of the story are that Las Vegas is going to be hit with one of the worst terrorist attacks of all time and only Rainbow team can stop it. One of the interesting things about the story is that you experience the majority of it in game and not with lengthy cut scenes. It actually works very well and immerses you in the action.
Gameplay wise, Ubisoft really changed things up as Rainbow Six Vegas feels like no other Rainbow Six game. While you could still give orders to your teammates (which you did with the d pad) things like regenerating health, 3rd person cover shooter sections and the fact that missions had checkpoints gave the game a much more action packed feel than any other game in the series. One of the coolest things they added was using ropes to move up and down the building all the while shooting! Gameplay was nice and tight and for many was that perfect blend of being action packed while also offering tactical based gameplay.
Rainbow Six Vegas was a huge hit. It was very well received, people love the single player campaign and multiplayer was very popular as well. In all, it was a great reboot of the series and actually introduced many new players to the series as well.
Overwatch Mercy Updates
Like most of you guys, we are huge Overwatch fans here at Mods “R” Us. The recent Halloween update has been a lot of fun and anything that brings back the epic, Junkenstiens Revenge gets a high five from us.
But the biggest change happened just the other day and that was to Mercy who has had her healing abilities kind of nerfed. The resurrect ability made a player playing as Mercy who knew what they were doing a hugely important part of a team. You could argue that a skilled Mercy player is the most important part of an Overwatch team!
Anyway, this new update has made it so that her Valkyrie and Resurrect work together “better” so that two players can be resurrected in a more efficient and timely manner. Valkyrie no longer will affect the cooldown of Resurrect so that is something players are going to have to watch for.
Blizzard has done a lot of work the last year tweaking various characters in an effort to make the game as balanced as possible, but with Mercy being a character that many of the diehard fans love to play as. If these changes prove to be not popular then perhaps they will make changes. After all, it is hard to imagine that a new player or just a casual player is using Mercy. Mercy is a character that is best used by someone who knows exactly what they are doing so we have a feeling it is going to be the hardcore players who dictate if this new change stays or not.
Call Of Duty Zombies In WW2 Are Lifelike And Real Scary
We have talked a little before about the zombie's mode in Call Of Duty WWII. But recently some pictures surfaced of what these Nazi zombies look like and they are just terrifying! Honestly, these are some of the creepiest and scariest looking zombies we have ever seen in a video game.
Sledgehammer Games and Activision really do appear to have outdone themselves with this year’s Zombies mode. They wanted to not just make it a fun experience like Zombies has been in the past. But genuinely make it as scary as they possibly can.
We feel that they certainly appear to have done this. Zombies mode in Call Of Duty WWII is once again all about survival, but from what we have heard, it looks like it is going to be a real challenge.
You will want to stay with the people you are playing with, but when all hell breaks loose and you guys get split up you will be praying that the next corner you walk around, one of your buddies will be there and not a horde of Nazi zombies. Mixing in horror with run and gun game play is a sure fire winner and we really can see some people buying Call Of Duty WWII just for the Zombies mode.
Fear is what this year’s Zombie mode is all about and we can tell you that just from some of the images we have seen, we are scared already! We would love to know what you guys thoughts are on this new take on Zombies in the comments section down below.
